How to use CEA position based group distributions lists
Last Updated 7 months ago

This guide will show you show you how to use email aliases for roles and group distributions
lists.

All Staff / All Cadets Distribution Lists
Emails can be sent to All Staff at a unit: allstaff.{UnitAbbreviation}@airforcecadets.gov.au
email address. For example, to send an email to All Staff @ XWG (including sub units), you
would use: allstaff.Xwg@airforcecadets.gov.au.

To restrict an All Staff email to only members of the unit specified (not sub units), you would
append “.aafc” to the email alias. For example, allstaff.Xwg.aafc@airforcecadets.gov.au.

Emails sent to All Cadets at a unit: allcadets.{UnitAbbreviation}@airforcecadets.gov.au. For
example: allcadets.XXXsqn@airforcecadets.gov.au.

Removing the “staff” or “cadets” gives you an email distribution list for all members at the
unit/sub units. For example: all.Xwg@airforcecadets.gov.au would send the email to all
members of XWG both Staff and Cadets.

Positional Email Addresses
You can also send emails to specific position holders. See below some examples:

  • co.XXXsqn@airforcecadets.gov.au – Commanding Officer, xxx Squadron
  • perso.Xwg@airforcecadets.gov.au – Personnel Officer, X Wing
  • sot.Xwg@airforcecadets.gov.au – Staff Officer Training, X Wing
There are also distributions lists for positions. See below some examples:

  • all.co.Xwg@airforcecadets.gov.au – All Commanding Officers in X Wing
  • all.trgo.Xwg@airforcecadets.gov.au – All Training Officers in X Wing
Emails sent to distribution lists will need to be cleared through the Mail Moderation process in CEA.
